Arambol beach is special in many ways. It's secluded on the north coast of Goa and manages to look
quite untouched and primitive, though it can easily be everyone's dream
beach.
Apart from offering peace and
tranquillity, the villages around Arambol also have a hand in enhancing
the beauty of Arambol beach in Goa. The villagers at this Goan beach
are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Here,
you can get the feel of the Goan culture from close quarters. After the
other crowded beaches in Goa which chug out commercial air, Arambol
comes as a welcome change. There are miles of long
uninterrupted beaches with tracks running around. The second
beach (up north) is even more secluded and little used. There are sulphur pits and
freshwater lake.
Just sit on the sand and loose yourself in its captivating beauty. The
sand is soft and white with little cottages on the red slopes, rocks in
some places and the approach road lined with shacks offering souvenirs
and clothes. At one end of it runs the Tiracol River and beyond the
river rises the Tiracol Fort, now an interesting little hotel. Some good cafes along the main beach and on the headland to the north serve up tasty and fresh sea food dishes.
A large and sprung out village near the seashore, Arambol can be
approached by a road which winds across the plateau and down through
the cashew trees. The beach is an uninterrupted and stunning stretch of
curving sand, still unspoilt in comparison to other beaches. The beach
is quiet except on Sundays, when a large crowd of local picnickers
gather here. Good swimming, body surfing, dolphin watching boat trips and paragliding are fun activities on Arambol beach.
