This
is a stretch of 5 km very
charming
golden
sand beach along the South India - Goa coastline.
The Majorda beach lie to the south of Bogmalo. The best Goan toddy can
be found here, as well as the best European breads as a result of early
European baker's immigration into the area. According to the Goan
version of Ramayana, Lord Rama was kidnapped as a child and brought up
at Majorda. Later, in pursuit of Sita, he camped at Cabo de Rama, a
headland that lies further south and where there is now a fort.
It was an isolated beach but recently
there is a growth of five star resorts in this area.
Majorda beach is quite uncrowded beach and if you don't want to get
disturbed by the hustler's of the other beaches you can very well find
this as an escape place.
Beside
from the restaurants at the resorts, there are few beach shacks close
to the resorts offering good choice of Goan, Indian and Continental
food. The seefood is fresh and abundant as Majorda it still an
alive fisherman's village.
Good swimming on non windy days.
Majorda is 18 km from Dabolim Airport and there is regular bus service from Margao.
10 minutes from Margao Konkan Railway Station.
