| Vagator
is relatively small and one of the more beautiful rocks and sand Goa beaches just few miles north of Anjuna beach and 22 km from Panjim. To reach the beach,
you have to walk down a steep cliff or use the newly build stairs. The beach is decked by black lava
rocks with stretches of soft sand leading up to the 500 old Portuguese fort of Chapora. The view of
the sea, rice fields and palm trees from the fort is mind blowing and so
is the breeze at the top. Generally peaceful, in
peak season it attracts day-trippers, and during the night typically
boisterous Goa rave parties are a
regular feature.
Good swimming in few places in inviting sandy
coves, and some body surfing on windier days.
